If you’re an Etsy seller looking to earn more without creating more products or managing more inventory, there’s a little-known strategy that can help! This is something I wasn’t properly taking advantage of until recently, so I wanted to share this post to help fellow Etsy sellers who it may also benefit!

Through the Etsy affiliate program (powered by Awin), you can earn a commission on your own shop sales—and on other Etsy listings you recommend! Disclosure: This post contains affiliate links. If you sign up through my link, I may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Thank you for supporting Joyfully Treasured!
What is the Etsy Affiliate Program?
Etsy partners with Awin, a trusted affiliate network, to run its affiliate program. Once approved, you’re given special trackable links you can use to promote any Etsy listings—including your own. When someone clicks your link and makes a purchase, you earn a commission (typically 4%, but can go up to 8% depending on the category).
Yes, You Can Link to Your Own Shop!
This is the best part: Etsy allows sellers to link to their own listings using affiliate links. That means if someone clicks your link on your blog, Pinterest, or other platforms and makes a purchase from your shop—or any Etsy shop during that session—you earn a commission on top of your product sale.
The cookie is also good for 30 days, so if they make any purchase on Etsy during that time, you can make a commission. What I especially love about this is that it “makes lemonade” regarding one primary issue I haven’t always loved about being an Etsy seller. When I spend my efforts directing traffic directly to my Etsy shop listings, the first thing that pops up at the top of the screen are links to similar products, oftentimes from different shops! However, if I am sending customers to my products via my affiliate link, I will still earn a small amount, even if they end up finding a different product in the Etsy marketplace.
If you create any kind of content outside of your Etsy shop, via social media or your own blog, this is the perfect program for you!
How to Sign Up for the Etsy Affiliate Program:
Head to Awin and create an account. Search for the Etsy program and apply!
Once approved, use the Awin interface to create affiliate links to your listings. Copy and paste these links into your blog posts, social media bios, Pinterest pins, or email footers.
Where to Use Affiliate Links:
- Blog posts (like gift guides or DIY tutorials)
- Pinterest pins
- Link in bio (via Linktree or direct website page)
- Product roundups
- Resource pages
- Thank-you pages or order confirmation pages
I added affiliate links to my blog shop page. I even plan to link in some products I don’t directly sell, but would compliment my products and printables well! Being a part of Etsy affiliate program gives me a better mindset on what would create the very best experience for my customers and readers, rather than fixating on just making the sale.
How Much Can You Earn?
Earnings vary, but here’s an example: if your customer buys a $40 product via your affiliate link, you’ll earn 4% ($1.60) in affiliate revenue in addition to your regular product profit. If they add other items to their cart, you earn on those too. Affiliate + Seller = Smart Income Stack! This is ideal for creators, bloggers, or sellers who are building a content strategy. As your traffic grows, these affiliate links work quietly in the background, boosting your income.
