My name is Joy, and I’m so glad your here! I enjoy a good cup of tea, and getting my hands dirty in the garden.
Joyfully Treasured is where I share tutorials and inspiration for crafting, vintage and farmhouse decorating, homemaking and DIY.
I hope to inspire others to create a warm, beautiful, and happy home on a budget. I love to thrift and repurpose! I challenge myself to create the look I love in décor blogs and magazines for less.
I have a bit of an obsession with haberdashery. When we were stationed in Alabama, I discovered a filing cabinet full of vintage sewing patterns, and a trunk full of ribbon in an antique warehouse. That turned into an Etsy shop, JoyfullyTreasured, that offers vintage and inspired sewing and craft supplies.
I met my husband, Jason before I started college, and we were married three years later. Here we are with our son. ❤ Time sure flies, his little brother is due in June!
We bought our fixer upper last year, and I love it dearly. I felt so drawn to a distressed house because it really needs the love that I am so eager to give it. As a natural caretaker, it felt so right to take our house and make it into a comfortable home.
I have fond memories of my sister and I doing crafts with my Mother and Mom-Mom. Mom always made our home full of love and warmth. I remember Mom-Mom teaching me to tend a garden, and excitedly cleaning the house with her before putting up the Christmas decorations.
They both passed away suddenly when I was nine, and I was no longer a child after that. I did my best to take care of us and make our space comfortable. Now, as a mother myself, I want to create a loving and comfortable home for our family.
Home for me is an almost sacred place. The only place you can put down your burdens and feel at peace after a worrisome day…a beautiful haven full of love and acceptance.
Join me as I pour love into our home…one fun craft or affordable project at a time!
